Demons, also known as Daemons, are malevolent and infernal spirits who were once angels or humans that were twisted by demonic energies. They are also the archenemies of angels.

Overview[]

Demons are generally regarded as fallen angels, corrupted spirits, or evil deities. However, this term evolved to the point that any malevolent entity, particularly one from Hell, is considered a demon. They are seen as the enemies of God, Jesus Christ, angels, and all those who show faith in the Creator.

Due to their status as some of the strongest supernatural creatures, demons believe themselves to be superior to humanity and all other mortals. However, they can be bound and controlled by rituals and spells with enough power and proper preparation. Nevertheless, they have the capability to break free should their wills and power be great enough.

Despite holding humanity in high contempt, many demons live among the mortal world as billionaires and criminal overlords, gaining considerable influence among the higher societies. Many other demons do the same in other planets as well, since there will be a lot of complication if millions of influential people started appearing out of nowhere on a planet.

Description[]

Demons represent natural disasters, cruelty, suffering, and sinful acts. They are also used as a metaphor to describe one's inner turmoil. Much like monsters, demons seek to disrupt the natural order. However, they do that on a spiritual level by driving mortals down the wrong path using their powers over the mind. However, it should be noted that they don't actively control them; instead, they simply open the door to darkness and waited to see if the mortal would walk through it or not.

Demons are the archenemies of angels, possessing demonic counterparts of the angels' powers. However, they are still generally weaker than their angelic enemies and are outnumbered as well, although they have more powerhouses (that being the Archdemons), to make up for power and numbers.

The hierarchy of Hell is more complicated than that of Heaven, with many dukes, kings, and princes ruling over hundreds of legions. Despite the complex hierarchy, most demons are contented with it because it is organized despite the complication. However, a few low-ranking demons disliked it because they hated being at the bottom while others are at the top.

Powers and Abilities[]

As the residents of Hell, demons have great supernatural power, making them superior to every mortal. They basically have all the powers of fallen angels, except without the angelic abilities. The individual powers that demons have depends on their rank, but all of them are very powerful regardless of their position within the inferno hierarchy.

Low Ranking Demons[]

Demonic Aura: The ability to surround oneself in wretched demonic energy.
- Demonic Presence: The power to emit a demonic and unnatural presence that can cause supernatural effects.
  - Infernal Background: The condition to have demonic/damned/unholy energies around ones self appearing as a hellish background.
Demonic Form: The ability to transform into a demon's true form within them.
Demonic Wings (varies): The power to possess the wings of an demonic entity.
Regenerative Healing Factor: The power to automatically and rapidly heal.
Superpowered Physiology: The power to acquire the status, powers, and feats of a superpowered being.
- Supernatural Condition: The power to possess supernatural capabilities and attributes.
  - Supernatural Combat Mastery: The power to possess transcendent combat mastery.
  - Supernatural Durability: The power to possess durability beyond what is naturally possible.
  - Supernatural Strength: The power to wield strength beyond what is possible within known laws of science.

Middle Ranking Demons[]

Cosmic Awareness: The power to be attuned to the universe itself.
Energy Manipulation: The power to manipulate energy.
- Absorption: The power to absorb various forms of energy and utilize it in some way.
- Barriers: The ability to project fields of manipulated energy.
- Blasts: The ability to release energy on a specific target area.
- Constructs: The power to create constructs out of energy.
Supernatural Condition: The power to possess supernatural capabilities and attributes.
Invulnerability: The power to be completely immune to all forms of physical harm on any and all levels.
Shapeshifting: The power to alter one's form and appearance.
Spirit Physiology: The power to use the abilities of spirits.
- Flight: The power to perform independent movement in a gaseous atmosphere or vacuum.
- Illusion Manipulation: The power to manipulate illusions.
- Intangibility: The power to phase through physical matter.
- Invisibility: The power to render oneself unable to be seen.
- Possession: The supernatural power to inhabit the bodies of other beings/entities.
- Telekinesis: The power to move, manipulate or otherwise interact with matter/energy without physical means.
- Teleportation: The power to instantaneously move from one location to another without physically occupying the space in between.

High Ranking Demons[]

Weaknesses[]

Unlike many other beings, demons are not so easily defeated. That isn't to be said that they are invincible as there are ways to harm, imprison, and even kill them. In fact, they are known to possess more weaknesses than the angels. However, high-ranking demons have more resistance against some of the weaknesses, with a few being entirely harmless to them.

Hybrids - Powerful hybrids can harm and even kill demons.
Demon Slayers - Are vulnerable to demon slayers.
Primordial Entities - Primordial Entities can kill any demon effortlessly.
Powerful Beings - Other powerful beings can harm and even kill demons.
Ascending from Disgrace - Are vulnerable to ascending from disgrace.
Angelic Powers - May be affected by angelic powers.
Magic - Magic can be used to trap and harm demons.
Exorcism - Can be exorcised from their vessels.
Divine Weapons - Divine weapons are capable of harming and killing demons.
Holy Objects - The cross, holy water, and other symbols of holiness can repel demons.
