The Amazons are a tribe of all-women warriors founded by Otrera. Although they are said to be demigods, in reality many of them are descended from demigods. They are similar to the Hunters of Artemis, except they do not take vows of chastity.
Overview[]
The Amazons are a group of female warriors as skilled as men in combat. Their society was closed to men. Whenever a baby boy was born, they would sent him back to his father. But when a baby girl was born, they would raise her as one of their own.
Amazon warriors were often depicted in battle with Greek warriors. While the art showed the Greeks winning, in truth, the Amazons were usually the victors. Archaeological discoveries of burial sites with female warriors on the Eurasian Steppes suggest that the Amazon myth may have stemmed from Scythian women.
Description[]
Courageous and fiercely independent, the Amazons prayed to Artemis for hunting skills but also worshipped Ares for strength and courage in battle. They embarked on extensive military expeditions into the far corners of the world, from Greece all the way to Arabia and Egypt. They have extensive knowledge in many fields like archery, equestrianism, hand-to-hand combat, swordsmanship, etc.
The Amazons are known to have rocky relationships with other demigods, especially male ones. In the Trojan War, Penthesilea was killed by Achilles. Years before that, Heracles stole Hippolyta's belt. And at the beginning of the Amazon nation, Bellerophon killed Otrera, the first and most famous Amazon queen.

Amazons are a powerful race of women. They are all linked by being fantastical variants of humanity, thus having unique traits and powers. Being stronger, faster, more durable, etc., grants them certain advantages over normal human beings, allowing them to often achieve victory over their enemies.

- Superpowered Physiology - The power to acquire the status, powers, and feats of a superpowered being.

Despite their enhancements, Amazons are not immortal and therefore are still susceptible to many weaknesses inherent in all mortals.
